New York City
I don’t judge trips until they are over, but I can tell this trip to NYC is going to be ranked very high.
Full trip wrap-up later today.
What time is it in Unicorn Land?

No-time or Christmas o’clock?
Christmas O’Clock. We decided this last night after seeing a rat run across the path not far from where we were sitting. You make your own connections.
vimeo meet-up party
I met and hung out with the coolest, nicest, most-genuine people last night. It was an incredible evening. As for internet meet-ups, the bar has been significantly raised.

Due to a school bus accident on an icy street, I had to pick shards of glass (Die Hard style) out of my hands and torso. I felt so guilty about not feeling any pain, that I sort of faked some wincing so the people around me didn’t get jealous.
Most of the glass shards were hook-shaped and as big as your average paperclip.
I also rode a giant elephant in a movie theatre. It was a fancy theatre,...
Am I the only one who is already thinking about their Halloween costume? Surely not!

Schrobert’s 5X5 from last summer
One of my favorite things to do is reminisce by looking back through vimeos. This one made Carl and I laugh so hard we cried a bit. The guitar solo with a hook arm is what put us over the edge.
Readkill
I was driving home on Thursday and noticed some debris in the road. Someone had lost their load of books! There were probably upwards 50 paperbacks strewn all over the street. I felt the same amount of sadness for those books as I do when I see roadkill.
I almost went back to pick up a few books, but it was 5 p.m. on a highway on-ramp, so I just had a moment of silence instead.
Grooming
When people say things like, “He’s being groomed for a management position,” I stop listening to anything else they say after that because I get this image of a Mother Goose type figure combing the subject’s hair very slowly, wide-eyed and with great intent. Oh yes, you’ll make a fine manager someday… a fiiiiiiiine manager indeed.

Funny. Thats not how i thought your voice would sound.
Shit, didn’t realize there was audio as well as the transcription. I’m pretty self-concious about my voice.

lots of action on the (Kansas) radar today
AA: Just checked the radar and am now feeling intense shadenfreude. You are like right in the path. But it's still early. We might be in for it.
yourdp: Is that bad that when you said radar I immediately went to tumblr... only to realize several seconds later you were talking about the weather? (face/palm) Need. More. Coffee.
AA: LOL! Nerd.
yourdp: Welcome to my sad existence.
Carl's relative time
Carl and I are coming up on two years of dating. Over these two years I have become keen to Carl’s idiosyncricies. My least favorite is his sense of time. One example is his sense of “two seconds.” He says two seconds as if he actually means two seconds. But in reality, he could mean any of the following: 15 min. 30 min. an hour and a half or in the case from this afternoon, 2...
